I am a member WIN and was selected to attend Oxford University as a Visiting Scholar in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics in 2004. In 2002 I was a legislative aide to former Majority Leader of the United States Senate Tom Daschle and was President of my Class at Sarah Lawrence College, a small coeducational liberal arts school in Westchester County New York.
Upon graduation from college I returned to my hometown of Austin, Texas and spent a good spell slacking before enlisting in the United States Army Infantry and serving a tour in Iraq. After an honorable discharge from the military I tried my hand at political campaign management and as a stockbroker but decided I like to use my mind, hence, one of the reasons I am here.
Currently I am earning a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Texas in lovely El Paso. After an undergraduate focus which was far from quantitative I am rekindling and old interest in Mathematics by minoring in Statistics. In addition I am filling my brain with lots of Differential Equations, Proofs, Dynamic Modeling, Game Theory, and programming languages so as to spend more time earning a Master of Science Degree than some folks take earning a PhD -- seriously.
Although a lot of people say Economists are not very funny I beg to differ. In fact I think most Economists are not funny period.
In closing many people say I look a little like Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel but I do not see the resemblance...
